My Very First Tax Auction In Florida
Last month I went to my first Florida home auction. It was totally different from the way we do things in New York. I have bought several different properties in New York that were up for auction because of unpaid taxes. Once you pay the cash you get your deed in a few weeks. This auction was different because instead of a deed I received some documents they call tax lien certificates. I wasn’t really sure how they work but I was assured that if the owner did not pay that the property would in essence become my home free and clear of any mortgages.
