The Cuboid syndrome

A problem in the foot which is located outside of it is what we called the Cuboid syndrome. A small bone on the outside of the foot that is involved in several small joints is the cuboid bone. The bone is normally very stable and does not move too much, but if it does move a lot, then it puts significant pressure on the joints that are around it. The bone needs to be very stable as it is a pulley for the peroneus longus tendon. If the tendon moves the cuboid bone when its muscle contracts, then the effects of the muscle and tendon complex will be much less than ideal.
